30th September – 6th October 2013 – Isaiah 61:1-4 – A Blueprint for Revival.

This Kingdom Revival Prayer outline for 30th September – 6th October 2013 – Isaiah 61:1-4 – A Blueprint for Revival.

Kingdom Revival Prayer

A while back we prayed through part of Isaiah 9 thinking about Jesus incarnation as we celebrated the birth of Prince George. Here from Isaiah’s prophecy, part of which Jesus proclaimed as he started his ministry, we have ‘A Blueprint for Revival’.

Worship Focus: Isaiah 61:1-4.

We should worship God both for who he is and for what he does, this week we shall do the latter. Let’s worship Jesus, the Good News, who mends us, releases us, comforts us, gladdens us, plants us, builds us, raises up and restores us. I am sure you can find at least one reason to worship the Lord from this list!

Word Focus: Isaiah 61:1-4 – A Blueprint for Revival.

In this passage we have a blueprint for revival and how it happens. It starts with one person or a few people, who then impact other people, this then impacts a whole city…

FORSAKE ALL AND FOLLOW

Do you pray and obey?

johnnoble1

There have been many decisions, but precious few disciples in the western world at large.

Beloved we are commissioned to ‘Go into all the world and make disciples.’

There is an age old saying in Christendom,’only those who bear a cross will one day wear a crown.’

If anyone wants to be a true disciple the Makers Instruction manual says that they must forsake themselves, take up their cross and follow Jesus. You don’t hear that preached too often today simply because it is too radical, too revolutionary and too downright uncomfortable.

Yet I have noticed that all the Mighty Men and Women of God that I have encountered primarily did two things a very lot.

They prayed a lot. They obeyed a lot.Jesus was very clearly their Commander in chief.

Galatians 3:1 – Declaring Christ Crucified.

It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly exhibited as crucified.(Galatians 3:1 NRSV)

This verse is a challenge! Do we publicly exhibit Jesus Christ as crucified? Or do we try to get around and avoid the insult and scandal of the cross?

At the cross there is peace between men and God, and between men and men. At the cross is forgiveness of sin. At the cross the price for sin was paid.

Do we publicly declare and display that Jesus was crucified or do we hide away?

Lord Jesus, help me to declare you as crucified publicly and openly. So that others may see you for who you are and for what you have done. Amen!!!

Galatians 3:1 – Wake Up!!!

You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? (Galatians 3:1 NRSV)

Paul sounds exasperated here! Verbally he is picking them up by the scuff of the neck and shaking them to wake them up.

How much we all need this at times!

Do I need to be shaken and woken up? Or do I need to shake and wake up someone else?

Lord, help us to see things as they really are not as we may want them to be! Amen!
